We had a nice evening with Bill & Gen Brader. Lar was here also. (Kim was working.) Had a beef roast & it was so good. Was glad as you never know with beef. We played Uno & that is always fun.l Guess Denny will stay in Fla. Bill misses him in the business but Barb & Cindy will take the insurance test & Bill will teach them the business. He wants to be able to take it easier.
We went to Jamestown & bot a crib. It is a Jenny Lind type & will enclose a picture. We plan to get the mattress & crib bumper later on. We wonder if you'll be able to get it in your car.
We'll be rooting for the Giants in the Super Bowl. George is rooting for Denver. People don't want N.Y. to win anything more but even tho they are called N.Y. Giants they are really in New Jersey. Mayor Koch won't pay for a parade if they win. Any celebration will be at Giant Stadium.
We're going to start looking for vinyl for the eating area as after putting in the new window, the present vinyl got patched up. Have to have things right for the relatives. Our living room is so improved since we don't have the console T.V. Seems larger.
Hope you both are overs colds & flu by now. So far we've escaped - knock on wood!!
Time for Cheers so goodbye.
Until July 2010, when her eyesight deteriorated, my mother wrote 1000s of chatty letters during her lifetime - to her parents, in-laws, sisters, children, friends. Tho she started to write to me on a regular basis in Sept '68 when I began my freshman year at SUNY-Buffalo, it wasn't until 10 years later that I decided to hold onto them. (Very inconsistently at first, to which the big gaps between dates attest.) These are the letters transcribed, annotated, and otherwise highlighted here.
